Dr Anne Shneerson is Retiring

It is with much sadness that I have to inform you that Anne is leaving. Although Anne has planned her retirement for some time the date is fast approaching and she will be leaving at the end of March.

After 35 years at The Red House/Burwell Surgery, 30 years as a Partner and the last 9 years as Senior Partner we will miss her immensely, as I know you all will.

If you would like to join Anne for a farewell cup of tea and cake we will be holding an open afternoon on Saturday 24th March from 2.30 0 5.00pm. You are all welcome to come along and share this time with Anne.

All patients registered with Dr Shneerson will be transfered to the list of Drs Wills, Manning or Parry, however you may see any doctor you wish at the practice.

Summary Care Records - Have you made your choice?

The Summary Care Record (SCR) go live was successful and everyone now has an electronic summary care record, unless you previously opted out.

Summary Care Record is an electronic record of important information about a patients health. It will initially have information about current medications, allergies and any bad reactions to medicines. Additional information may be added over time if a patient gives their consent.

For further information, please ask at reception. You can also phone the SCR information line on 0300 123 3020 or visit the website at www.nhscarerecords.nhs.uk. Alternatively contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at the PCT on 0800 279 2535.

Patient Survey

We have received the results of our latest patient survey. Thank you all who completed the questionnaire and for the many positive comments.

We are very pleased with the results as we scored above average points in all categories and highest for respect shown to our patients. Our lowest score was for the time you spend waiting to see the doctor. To try to address this we are now increasing the appointment times from 10 to 12 minutes.

Health Check

We are now offering a Health Check for all our patients aged between 40 and 74 years old.

This check will be carried out by our Health Care Assistant Amanda. She will measure your blood pressure, height & weight, your cholesterol level and blood glucose and test your urine.

We recommend you take up this offer, if you are in that age group you will be receiving an invitation letter in due course.
