Dr Alex Manning

I have been a GP here in Burwell since 2000.  Although as a GP I come across a wide range of problems, I have particular interest in diabetes – I run the diabetic clinic with Practice Nurse Angie and also Family Planning (I fit contraceptive coils and implants).  I have been a trustee of the Arthur Rank Hospice in Cambridge for several years and I feel that it is really important to be providing the best possible care for patients and their families who are dealing with a life limiting illness.  I also have a role in the financial management of the local NHS system representing the group of practices in the Ely area on the Cambridge and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).  Away from work I enjoy music (playing in a rock band) and long distance running.
