Making East Cambridgeshire a more ‘Dementia Friendly’ place to live

Making East Cambridgeshire a more Dementia Friendly place to live

We need your help to support towns and villages in East Cambridgeshire to become more dementia friendly. Each of us will know someone living with dementia, or someone caring for someone with dementia, in our lifetime. By raising our own understanding of dementia more people living with dementia and their carers will feel understood, valued and able to contribute in their local community.

Our aim…

From 1 February 2023 to the end of March 2023 we would like to increase the number of local people becoming Dementia Friends in East Cambridgeshire by 500+!!

What is a Dementia Friend?

A Dementia Friend is somebody that learns about dementia so they can help their community. Everyone and anyone who wants to help people with dementia in their community can become a dementia friend.

How do I become a Dementia Friend?

Sign up for a ticket here and we’ll then send you a link to a webpage where you can either watch a short video (5 minutes) on dementia to become a Dementia Friend or attend an in-person or virtual more in-depth information session (approx. 45 minutes).

We’re really keen to understand where our Dementia Friends are situated in East Cambridgeshire and so when booking a ticket, we will ask for your home postcode. If you work but don’t live in East Cambridgeshire, please put the postcode of your place of work.
